Pastor Lorenzo Stewart

Pastor Lorenzo Stewart, now a Man of God, was born June 17, 1950, in Mobile, Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mobile. After completing his public school education, his faith was put to the test, when he served in the US Army. After serving in the armed forces, Pastor Stewart resided in Detroit, Michigan for a time.
Pastor Stewart experienced many trials and tribulations before returning to his beloved Mobile. He then studied at Faulkner State College and White’s Theological Seminary, both located in Alabama, where he majored in Business Administration and Religion. Pastor Stewart was licensed to preach by Pastor Frank Young on February 3, 1985. He was ordained on June 21, 1987 at Starlight Baptist Church, in Satsuma, Alabama, where he served as pastor for eleven years. He was then called to Pastor Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in Aurora, Colorado, January 4, 1998.
Pastor Stewart, an awesome teacher of God’s Word, never thinks that he is past the point of learning himself; therefore, he remains ready with a willing ear to hear and a spirit that seeks the Word of GOD for itself. His electrifying style of preaching is done with such clarity that anyone can understand and receive their breakthrough. He teaches the Word of God to anyone with an ear to hear and to those seeking salvation in the Lord. When the Word of GOD can’t be heard through his teaching and preaching, Pastor Stewart has a “ram in the bush”; he has been blessed with the gift of music. He has a GOD given ability to sing and play the Word of the Lord into your spirit.
Pastor Stewart has a powerful personal testimony, and is not shy about using it when he believes that it will serve as a tool to minister to the people of GOD and help the lost to find their way.
In addition to his Sunday morning duties, Pastor Stewart conducts Sweet Hour of Prayer, Wednesday Night Bible Study, attends state and national conventions, conducts revivals, eulogizes the deceased, comforts the bereaved, performed wedding ceremonies and much more.
Pastor Stewart was given a vision for Peaceful Rest and its members and has dedicated his time and efforts toward seeing the vision become a reality for Peaceful Rest. Some accomplishments of the vision have been a sound room, a church bus and van fleet, overflow area, a grand piano, Boys & Girls Club, Sweet Hour of Prayer, chair lift for the physically challenged, a newly renovated sanctuary and foyer, and more.
Pastor Stewart continues to work while it is day, using his anointed teaching and preaching to minister to the souls of the people of GOD; and fulfilling his vision for Peaceful Rest Baptist Church.
Pastor Stewart married Henrietta Mills and they together have raised four children and bask in the joy of several grandchildren and now one great-grandchild. Pastor Stewart remains dedicated to his family and to his ministry.
